First Letter in My Name

During morning group today we talked about the first letter of our name is. We learned that the first letter is always uppercase or capitalized and the letters after it are lowercase. We went through the alphabet and the children gathered in groups according to thier first letter. We then counted how many children were in each group we graphed the results. We talked about how and why graphs are used. Then we spent some time with playdough and alphabet cookie cutters!
